Sephora VIB Sale Purchases

I admit, am a sucker for a good sale and even more of a sucker for Sephora's bi-annual VIB sale.

So what did I purchase from the most recent Sephora VIB sale?

This Caudalie Anti-aging trio was one I've had my eye on for some time.  I had been wanting to try these products but couldn't justify paying the expensive prices for each individual product.  This set is perfect.  This set contains:
- 0.5 oz/ 15 mL Premier Cru The Eye Cream
- 0.33 oz/ 10 mL Premier Cru The Elixir
- 0.5 oz/ 15 mL Premier Cru The Cream

My second purchase was another gift set I had my eye on - the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter set. Winter has arrived early here in Western Canada, so am looking forward to trying these. This set contains:
- 8 fl. oz/ 240 mL Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Vanilla Apricot
- 2 fl. oz/ 59 mL Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Lavender Citrus
- 2 fl. oz/ 59 mL Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Vanilla Pine

The third set I purchased was the Fresh Sugar Lip Box.  I had been using the Sephora Collection Nourishing Lip Balm, and absolutely loved it, but have noticed it is no longer on their website 😒  Living in Canada over the cold winter months, a good lip balm is a necessity, so have decided to give these beauties a go. This set contains 6 x 0.07 oz/ 2.2 g Sugar Lip Treatment in Original (untinted), Tulip (a sheer hot pink), Rosé (a sheer rosy tint), Poppy (a bold deep pink-red tint), Honey (a bold warm-nude tint), Berry (a bold flirty berry tint) and 2 Colored pencils for drawing in Red, Pink

As a bonus, my birthday is in November and I was able to choose a birthday gift.  This year, I chose the Caudalie moisturizer and serum set to go along with the Caudalie Anti-aging trio I purchased

As an added bonus of my purchases, I was bumped up to Sephora VIB Rouge status and my welcome gift was a Sephora Collection Pro Flawless Airbrush #56

I admit, my purchases pale in comparison to some beauty bloggers/vloggers, but these are things I have had my eye on for a while, and decided to treat myself as part of my birthday celebration.

I will be reviewing these products in the near future, so stay tuned for for those review!

If you took advantage of the Sephora VIB sale, what did you purchase??

First Impression - Ancestry DNA vs MyHeritage DNA Kits

As an only child, I've always been curious about my genetic genealogy and ethnicity, especially on my mother's side of the family.  I am very lucky as my father had meticulously researched the genealogy for his side of the family (before the internet no less) and because of his efforts, I can trace our roots back to Alsace, Germany. Unfortunately family on my mother's side never really discussed their ethnicity or genealogy and I just assumed that they were either Ukrainian or Romanian.  Sadly there are no longer any living relatives on my mother's side that I can ask, so I decided to do the next best thing and do one of those fancy DNA tests they advertise.  But which one? As with any industry that has become popular, especially quickly, there are the front runner companies you always hear about - Ancestry, 23andMe and another I recently came across MyHeritage. Pricewise, MyHeritage is the cheapest at $99, Ancestry is next at $129 and then 23andMe at $249 (prices q...

A Further Update on Ancestry DNA vs MyHeritage DNA Kits

I posted an update on my Ancestry DNA vs MyHeritage DNA kits on May 28th, however, feel I need to post another update as an issue has come up with the MyHeritage kit. My test was sent back to MyHeritage on May 8th, and since I had not heard from them that they received my test, I sent a message to MyHeritage on May 23rd to get an update as to the status of my test.  This was the test that was sent from Canada to Texas so it should have been received within a week (give or take a day) - the test sent from Canada to Ireland arrived within a week. Sadly I never received any reply, however, noticed when I logged into the MyHeritage website on May 26th, my test had been marked as received on May 25th.  I found this very interesting. Fast forward to a few days ago to when I received an email from Paypal indicating that a refund had been completed by MyHeritage on June 5th.  What the heck??? Sure enough, I logged into the MyHeritage website and all signs of my DNA test ...
